Positions & Portfolio
Track your trades live and visualise your capital allocation
Positions & Portfolio
Two of ALumiEye's most powerful features for active traders: Positions for tracking every open and closed trade in real time, and Portfolio for a visual overview of how your capital is spread.
Positions Page
The Positions page shows every trade linked to your account — open, recently closed, or in transition — with live data so you always know where you stand.
Status Types
Positions move through a lifecycle. Understanding the status helps you know what action (if any) is needed:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Opening | A buy order has been placed and is waiting to fill |
| Opened | The order filled — you are now in the trade |
| Running | Active position with live P&L updating |
| Closing | A sell/exit order has been placed and is waiting to fill |
| Cancelling | An order is in the process of being cancelled |
| Closed | The trade is fully exited |
Position Term
Each position is classified by time horizon:
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Short-term | A trade expected to last days |
| Mid-term | A trade expected to last weeks |
Reading Each Position Row
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Symbol | The asset being traded |
| Side | BUY (long) or SELL (short) |
| Status | Current lifecycle stage (see above) |
| Term | Short-term or mid-term |
| Avg Price | Your average entry price |
| Stop Loss | The price at which the position will be cut to limit loss |
| Size | Position size as a normalised percentage of total capital |
| Capacity | A progress bar showing how much of the planned position size has been filled |
| Current Price | The latest market price (click Refresh to update) |
| Current P&L | Your profit or loss percentage from entry to now |
| Position Return | The total return percentage on the full position size |
| Distance to Stop | How far the current price is from your stop loss, as a percentage |
Filtering Positions
Use the filter bar at the top of the page to find specific positions quickly:
- Symbol search — Type any ticker to filter to that asset
- Status pills — Click All, Running, Opening, Opened, Closing, Cancelling, or Closed
- Active only toggle — Check this box to hide all closed positions and show only live trades
Filters reset the page back to page 1 automatically.
Refreshing Live Data
The Current Price, P&L, and Return columns do not update automatically to avoid overwhelming your connection. Click the Refresh icon on any row to pull the latest price for that specific position.
Position Detail Page
Click any row to open the full detail page for that position. Here you will find:
- A summary card with all key metrics
- Order history — every order that made up this position (entry, partial closes, full close)
- A refresh button for live price
Portfolio Page
Portfolio is available on Premium plans only.
The Portfolio page gives you a bird's-eye view of your entire capital allocation — not just individual trades, but how everything fits together.
Summary Cards
At the top of the page:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total Value | The combined value of all positions plus cash |
| Cash | Your available cash, with its percentage of total portfolio |
| Active Positions | How many positions are currently open |
Allocation Chart
The main feature is an interactive allocation chart showing every holding as a slice:
- Asset symbol and weight percentage
- Entry price vs current price
- Return percentage (green for profit, red for loss)
Click any slice to jump directly to that position's detail page.
Auto-Refresh
The portfolio refreshes automatically every 30 seconds. You can also click the manual Refresh button to force an immediate update.
How to Use Positions and Portfolio Together
Daily routine example:
- Open Positions — check all running trades. Refresh prices for any position near its stop loss
- Open Portfolio — check your allocation. If one asset dominates the chart, consider whether you are over-exposed
- Cross-reference with Signals — if you see a Close signal for an asset you hold, check the position's current P&L and decide whether to act
